The first building of its type in downtown Eugene, "The Tate" will include street level offices and five floors for 47 single-level condominiums. Bergsund DeLaney, as an owner and architect, is part of the development team and created the concept design that won approval from the Planning Commission and City Council. Located near our new library and transit center, it is the first project in the downtown core for ownership housing, and continues the momentum of Eugene's current development trend; "Housing Downtown". The building takes advantage of sustainable practices through energy efficiency; e.g. insulation levels, space heating, passive ventilation, efficient lighting and daylighting techniques. A durable envelope features long lived materials of brick and zinc cladding and the interior materials choices incorporate managed and sustainable products improving the indoor air quality for all residents. During design development we brought in the Portland firm of SERA Architects specifically because of their experience with concrete buildings of this scale. Bergsund DeLaney is currently the consultant architect to SERA. Sales began in fall of 2004, construction began in the spring of 2005 and the anticipated move-in date is spring of 2006.
